This could be a great time to share some thoughts? I am following the One Year Bible reading plan. Today's OT reading comes from 1 Chron. 24-26:11. It is here that priests, heads of families, and musicians were assigned their duties by the casting of lots. </div><div>I would love to hear some other thoughts about this passage. I am wondering if Jakim (who the 12th lot fell to), decided he wasn't "gifted" or "called" to that particular work and so decided he just wouldn't do it? Or if he maybe didn't like the way Aaron had laid things out for his specific duty? Or if he just wasn't appreciated enough and compensated enough and so left for another temple? Jakim had a "new way" of doing things that was obviously far superior to Aaron's archaic way of performing his duties. What did Aaron know anyways? (if you don't know me that well, you should be sensing the sarcasm about now)</div><div><br /></div><div>Any thoughts on how this passage, and the descriptions of duties and the way they were assigned, speaks to us and our service to the Lord? If you want another passage that could challenge us on this topic, look at Wednesday's reading from 1 Chron. and the "priest" who's only job was to bake bread.</div><div><br /></div><div>Peace & Grace,</div><div>Kyle</div>Kyle Stevenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13858895143580991954noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2812496803416790104.post-32900574187855341572008-07-09T12:28:00.000-07:002008-12-10T08:14:18.969-08:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhRWAeXvNbSG6KRLMoiXOrAOiU8wGF9joYOOBlYeJvjmS0NPKxkekgMv_-nzLIYxbgdrumn5u6Xhw5X5iNh97F4ymJxv7Ydecnya3c2WHKzxTFYmO_ldOYanBefyhvaWNkv-fto693lw/s1600-h/kayaktour_1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhRWAeXvNbSG6KRLMoiXOrAOiU8wGF9joYOOBlYeJvjmS0NPKxkekgMv_-nzLIYxbgdrumn5u6Xhw5X5iNh97F4ymJxv7Ydecnya3c2WHKzxTFYmO_ldOYanBefyhvaWNkv-fto693lw/s320/kayaktour_1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221098599381689170" border="0" /></a><br />Our group had a great time last night out at Whiskeytown. Janette had signed us up for a kayak tour. We had a couple of new folks show up and hang out with us which was great. I think we ended up with 18 people. It was so much cooler out there than it was in town. If you have never taken this little tour, it is so much fun. And the best part, it's free. All in all, it was a great time connecting with each other in God's beautiful creation. Most of us stopped at Baskin Robbins on the way back in to town for dollar scoop Tuesday. <br />I hope everyone else is doing well and staying connected. Looking forward to start hearing the stories.<br /><br />Blessings,<br />KyleKyle Stevenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13858895143580991954noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2812496803416790104.post-51333205451403872532008-07-05T18:25:00.000-07:002008-12-10T08:14:19.185-08:00July 2008 Begins...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuoCBl4OdFo_8ZOOvTUbKmO-LXYhAxpj4_FhE-4ww3VP_Fi-zGB-jICOXNDzJfOYVpw28pIYhwG3XGXdWUSRTpTBxvno1h4r2gDXdtRSH2RAqMGB6_TyxTRO_amG1Rno5b49RyeYpym3M/s1600-h/emerging-church-1.gif"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuoCBl4OdFo_8ZOOvTUbKmO-LXYhAxpj4_FhE-4ww3VP_Fi-zGB-jICOXNDzJfOYVpw28pIYhwG3XGXdWUSRTpTBxvno1h4r2gDXdtRSH2RAqMGB6_TyxTRO_amG1Rno5b49RyeYpym3M/s400/emerging-church-1.gif" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219706907454335730" border="0" /></a><br />Are you steppin' out, or keeping in?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2812496803416790104.post-35997393061492402532007-08-23T22:37:00.000-07:002007-08-23T22:41:20.065-07:00Preach Preacher PreachIf you were in my shoes, what do you think the Holy Spirit would lead you to preach a sermon about? The pastor has only been there for a short time but he is excited with what God is doing in their church. It was communion Sunday for them so we had a chance to share in the eucharist with the saints of Westside Church. The message evolved around the history of the passover and the wonderful Old Testament completion in the New Testament sacrificial lamb--JESUS. We will join this same community this afternoon for a potluck. <div><br /></div><div>Blessings,</div><div>Pastor Mike</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2812496803416790104.post-58000339151077245722007-06-30T13:36:00.000-07:002008-12-10T08:14:20.581-08:00Monday Night Discipleship Group<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGYgON2IcgN8T8inBNnbr3B1wpsFmOMNnq3pJMaunOb_iLrWli4Rpv1PJ7sW70D0XPXZwxd5S3ozLxHc4TXmr4PqpHn3L48gHJ0SPeotJXKIZva1x4p-0PasBRoZPR6GMZlh5_geWb-oQ/s1600-h/4july2.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5081959940397597810" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGYgON2IcgN8T8inBNnbr3B1wpsFmOMNnq3pJMaunOb_iLrWli4Rpv1PJ7sW70D0XPXZwxd5S3ozLxHc4TXmr4PqpHn3L48gHJ0SPeotJXKIZva1x4p-0PasBRoZPR6GMZlh5_geWb-oQ/s320/4july2.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>In July we will continue to meet each Monday<br />- 6pm at the <a href="http://www.reddingvineyard.com/disciple/PDF/DG-Demar.pdf">Yearwood’s<br /></a>- 1825 Riviera Dr.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2rsIHNIqUY63oSclQS7ITi2xvEPbMd3FIpZdEQ8F54xiC-c5yOIquv9HVthP0yUOehjnV4pIEnfWlVAkcUSP8CscoS0WbaUJOhK6YWw6q0HF8w7r0UC8uWj2DBxbwL0KzeNkEd2fqEL4/s1600-h/coffee.gif"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5081959446476358722" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2rsIHNIqUY63oSclQS7ITi2xvEPbMd3FIpZdEQ8F54xiC-c5yOIquv9HVthP0yUOehjnV4pIEnfWlVAkcUSP8CscoS0WbaUJOhK6YWw6q0HF8w7r0UC8uWj2DBxbwL0KzeNkEd2fqEL4/s320/coffee.gif" border="0" /></a><br /><div><br /><div>On July 4th (wed) we are having a Potluck-Brunch at 10am.</div><div></div><div></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnhjFa69SKUZdFv-f3uI5V0RwMLVWOx3zWwDjcJSOBAeFP_ruPDiE274Fs5EqPknU77ZLcHKBhSajxe6cDX2N0zuEPUiaZaMDwGPqfeOdpv9zuBd9DOm-sg0AztuacQGvgtt15Q-PgM7U/s1600-h/party.gif"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5081959446476358690" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnhjFa69SKUZdFv-f3uI5V0RwMLVWOx3zWwDjcJSOBAeFP_ruPDiE274Fs5EqPknU77ZLcHKBhSajxe6cDX2N0zuEPUiaZaMDwGPqfeOdpv9zuBd9DOm-sg0AztuacQGvgtt15Q-PgM7U/s320/party.gif" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div>July 9th we will be meeting at a different location (TBA).</div><div> </div><div><a href="mailto:davidedemar@gmail.com">email me any questions...</a></div></div></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2812496803416790104.post-87201407054038128052007-06-24T13:09:00.001-07:002007-06-24T13:14:52.816-07:00Events for July...please add your infopassamikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17586910223866797613noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2812496803416790104.post-88117361574558821592007-06-23T19:44:00.001-07:002007-06-28T16:28:08.501-07:00JulyHi everybody. We have created this blog to give everyone a place to stay connected and a way to share with friends during the month of July and beyond. The leaders here at the Vineyard invite each of you to share your thoughts, experiences and any other news you would like to tell.
